About PCSSL

The Pacific Coach Spring Soccer League (PCSSL) started in 1999 and is open to any AYSO team from 10U through 19U whose players are properly registered in their home region. PCSSL is open to all AYSO Core/Select, AYSO Extra, and AYSO United teams that want to compete at our levels.

This league facilitates competitive play across the San Francisco Bay Area peninsula encompassing AYSO Areas 2B, 2J, and 2N from San Francisco south to San Jose and Prunedale, and since 2016 we are reaching east to AYSO Area 2C in the East Bay.

Games are played on Sundays starting the first weekend in March and finishing usually before Memorial weekend in late May. Our key dates are posted on the Calendar page.

Team Registration

PCSSL is a league of teams and PCSSL does not handle player or volunteer registration -- each team's home AYSO region is responsible for player registration, volunteer registration and obtaining fields for games to be played.

Teams are required to submit an application including the necessary fees. We have a "PCSSL Registrar" for each AYSO Area who will process the team applications, check the team rosters, and will review and/or stamp each player's ID card.

Registration typically opens in December and closes in January. There is a mandatory coaches meeting in mid-February to address rules and processes and also to manage balancing teams in flights for each age division.

All the details are on the Team Registration page.

PCSSL Rules

PCSSL's rules are fairly standard for tournament and competitive play but there are several notable differences from what is typical in AYSO Core. However there are several parts of the rules that are specific to how PCSSL operates.

Everyone involved in PCSSL is expected to be familiar with the rules. Read them, and carry a copy just in case.

A current copy of the rules can always be found on the PCSSL Rules page..

Participating

PCSSL is an all-volunteer organization. We are successful only because you help make us successful.

For information about what coaches need to know, be familiar with the Coaches section.

For information about refereeing PCSSL games, the Referees section covers all the details.

We are always looking for help. Whether you want to criticize or if you are ready to contribute please use the contacts listed on our PCSSL Board page.
